Appraised in 1997 at a retail value of $800 by a Senior Member, Fine Arts, of the American
Society of Appraisers, and the Appraisers Association of America. He
was educated at the University of Houston; Academie Grande Chaumiere,
Paris, France; The Art Students League of New York, New York City;
Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Colorado; Museum of Fine Arts,
Houston; and studied Ceramics throughout Sweden, Texas Swedish
Cultural Foundation (scholarship to Konstfackskolan, Stockholm,
Sweden). His experience
includes Appraiser of Fine Arts, International Lecturer and Expert
Witness; Fine Arts Appraiser for the Internal Revenue, Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation; Federal Bureau of Investigation; U.S.
Customs; U. S. Marshall's Office; and various museums and private
collections. He is a member or officer in many professional art
associations, including Houston Art Dealers Association; African
American Heritage Museum, Houston; Oriental Ceramics Society,
Houston; Ima Hogg Ceramic Circle, Houston; Houston Philosophical
Society; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He has been Instructor of
Fine Arts at the College of the Mainland, Texas; Women's Institute,
Houston; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and University of
Houston.
