Beautiful quadruple plate silver insulated ice water pitcher with
stand. Highly engraved all over with ornate designs commonly given
as a presentation gift. Their is a similar ice pitcher in the
American Silver-plate book by Dorothy T. and H. Ivan Rainwater on
page 152, item #23. Which was presented to General James A. Garfield
in 1880, who became President of the United States that same year.
This pitcher is insulated and can be used for ice tea or other
cold beverages on a dining or buffet table.
The water server with stand has a patent date of June 13, 1868.
Each piece is numbered and stamped.
